Stericycle is a global business-to-business services company. We provide an array of highly specialized solutions serving healthcare organizations and commercial businesses of every size. Since our founding over 25 years ago, we have grown from a small start-up in medical waste management into a leader across a range of increasingly complex and highly regulated arenas, including compliance and sustainability waste services, brand protection solutions, and customer contact solutions.
Every organization today must comply with increasingly strict regulatory guidelines and quality controls in the delivery of their core businesses. Large or small, businesses can’t always do it on their own. They seek out Stericycle to help them. We have the expertise and passion to take on many complicated and often behind-the-scenes services our clients don’t always know how to do well but ultimately make their businesses better.
Stericycle’s history dates back to 1989 when Stericycle was founded in the United States to help healthcare providers stay compliant with new medical waste regulations. Stericycle brought those services and its expertise to Canada in 1998. Throughout our history, Stericycle has focused on helping businesses protect people and brands, promote health, and safeguard the environment.
In 2008, Product Management Corporation (PMC) was acquired in Brampton, Ontario. This added unsalable product destruction, product returns and recalls, and non-hazardous and hazardous waste disposal to our portfolio of services in Canada. In 2015, Stericycle acquired Shred-it International, the global leader in secure information destruction to further its line of solutions to protect people and brands.
Today, Stericycle Canada provides a broad range of behind-the-scenes solutions that support businesses in maintaining compliance and building their businesses.
Stericycle’s commitment to the environment and sustainability stems from our focus on providing solutions that enforce our core purpose: protect people and brands, promote health, and safeguard the environment. As part of our commitment, we manage our internal operations in ways that are both socially and environmentally responsible. We’re also constantly searching for new innovations to implement that help our customers and our team minimize environment impact and promote healthy communities.Sustainability Commitment
