As part of our commitment to protecting our communities and planet, Stericycle joins with like-minded organizations to shape a healthier and safer world for everyone, everywhere, every day.
Stericycle established a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to support tree replanting efforts in May 2022. In April 2023, we completed our year-long project to plant over 74,000 trees in the United States and Canada, and will plant a further 6,000 trees in the United Kingdom. The reforestation efforts of a total of approximately 80,000 trees will help restore habitat, improve air and water quality, and sequester carbon in areas damaged by human activity and natural disasters.
According to estimates provided by the Arbor Day Foundation, Stericycle’s reforestation efforts during the first year of the partnership will result in the following positive impacts to the environment over the next 40 years:

In 2021, Stericycle announced a $1 million, five-year commitment to the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. Our commitment will support landscape and wildlife conservation with a focus on wetland restoration. The National Park Foundation’s mission is to protect national parks and connect people to the wonder of parks, aligning well with Stericycle’s mission to protect health and well-being in a safe, responsible, and sustainable way. Stericycle’s commitment will support wetland restoration efforts at the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve in Jacksonville, Fla., as well as the Cumberland Island National Seashore in Saint Marys, Ga.
Our partnership with the National Park Foundation will support efforts to improve coastal resilience in both parks by implementing a nature-based solution known as a pervious oyster shell habitat (P.O.S.H). These constructed habitats will help provide an effective defense against the impacts of climate change, and the shorelines will benefit from decreased erosion, improved water quality and restored ecosystems.
The National Park Foundation raises private funds to help protect more than 85 million acres of national parks through critical conservation and preservation efforts and connect all Americans with their incomparable natural landscapes, vibrant culture, and rich history.
