In the United States, Women’s History Month is celebrated in March, which includes International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8. IWD is an opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements and increase their visibility while also calling out inequality. This year’s IWD theme is #EmbraceEquity, a value embraced at Stericycle. One of our core values at Stericycle is “We Embrace Diversity and Inclusion.” We are committed to ensuring our company is a place where everyone is treated fairly and respectfully, has equal access to opportunities, and can thrive personally and professionally.
In celebration of U.S. Women’s History Month, Stericycle’s employee resource group (ERG), Women’s Resource for Impact, Success, and Empowerment (WRISE), has planned events to support our team members’ professional development and promote equity. The month’s events provide a range of learning and professional opportunities, including a panel of ERG leaders discussing equity in the workplace and networking opportunities with Stericycle leadership, as well as sessions focused on imposter syndrome, storytelling through presentations, and finding your career path.
Celebrating and supporting women happens year-round at Stericycle through WRISE. Their mission is to provide an environment where Stericycle women and allies are heard, supported, and have development opportunities in a global community that supports curiosity, diversity, and inclusion. The group supports female team members through mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.
