Stericycle embraces a culture of belonging, where diverse perspectives and experiences are encouraged and supported. We understand that our success as a company is a result of the diverse talent and leadership across our entire team. We all work together to cultivate an inclusive culture where our team members feel welcomed, valued, and heard. Therefore, in recognition of Pride month, Stericycle joins members of our LGBTQIA+ community in celebration.
This June marks 54 years of Pride month, and our LGBTQIA+ employee resource group (ERG), Freedom of Individual Expression, Respecting Colleagues, and Equality (FIERCE), has planned a month packed with initiatives and events to celebrate. This year’s theme expands on a year-long one of Embracing Equity. Activities begin with a Cupcake Kick-Off at our corporate head office in Bannockburn, Illinois. ERG members and allies will celebrate inclusivity and diversity with some sweet treats. Other events include finding a career path – Pride Edition, Buffalo Grove Pride parade and picnic, mocktail happy hour, and more.
"Pride month is the time we come together in our colorful glory to increase awareness of equity and share personal stories. It’s also an opportunity to inform and engage with team members from all around the world,” said Mike Bratby-Bale, FIERCE International Chair. “Here at Stericycle, we celebrate the uniqueness of our team members and champion their contributions to making Stericycle a great place to work all year round. Letting team members be their authentic selves allows them to thrive, and when people thrive, the business does too."
FIERCE’s mission is to promote an equitable and inclusive culture for LGBTQIA+ team members. Throughout the year, the group provides support and resources for Stericycle's LGBTQIA+ community in addition to encouraging ally partnership and education. The group holds a variety of events, including open and engaging virtual discussions, guest speakers, yoga, and more.
